Dr. Steven Sorenson, OD

When I came in to see Dr. Sorenson last week after noticing what appeared to be a broken blood vessel in my eye, I had to wait 45 minutes in the freezing waiting room before being taken to an exam room. When I asked if the dilation fluid would burn badly, since my eye was already burning and itching, the clerk went to ask another clerk, who came in and began accosting me for not having had a vision screening for three years. When I told her I had been in every year for my diabetic vision screening, she proceeded to tell me that was completely different from a regular vision screening, even asking me if I had vision insurance, and pointing to the equipment used for vision screenings, asking me if it had been used on my yearly visits. When I told her yes, she was completely nonplussed. Unfortunately Dr. Sorenson came in asking the same questions, and giving me the same rude, overbearing, disrespectful treatment, repeating more than once that he had given up his own time to see me! … He didn't do a dilation, telling me I had refused it??? He insisted I have my BP taken to rule out high BP as the cause of the rupture, but they only had what looked like a toy, that gave readings of HI, MED, LOW. When I asked if they had a regular BP cuff or machine, they scrambled to see what they could find, and came back with another ridiculous cuff. I had been there two hours, so I finally gave up the hope of any actual professional assessment and just left, closing out my account at this disorganized, unprofessional factory posing as a caring facility with supposedly professional caregivers. Nothing could be further from the truth.
