Dr. Steven E Szames, MD

I was supposed to have an appt with Dr Steven Szames today 6/10/24, scheduled for 9:45a, to which I arrived and checked in at 9:37am. I sat in the waiting room until 10am when his asst took me back to the room,rushed through my issue and was out of the room by 10:02am, when she told me the Dr would be in to see me. I waited there until approx 10:22am when I went to the front desk to see when the doctor would be in because this point, I honestly thought I was forgotten. I was told he'd be in to see me and I went back to the room and left the door open. A few minutes later the asst walks past and goes to shut my door when I asked what was the hold up. She replied, with an attitude, stating I'm 1st on his list when he STARTS his rounds. What?!?! It's now almost 10:30am and he hasn't started yet?? I explained to her that my appt was at 9:45am and he isn't even here yet? She replied " well you're welcome to reschedule your app" to which I replied no I had already taken time off work for… today's appt, then she closed to door. Finally at 10:35am after still no sight of Dr Szames, I left the office and WILL NEVER return to that location. Sorry but I had to be clocked in for work at 11am. I'm also concerned of improper billing by this provider. If he is billng for 30+ mins visits and only spending less than 15 mins with a patient, that is wrong! Why was my appt scheduled for 9:45am if he doesn't get into the office until after 10:30am?? I will be checking with my insurance and explaining this to them as well.
