Warning! Please consider the second opinion of any other doctor after visit with Dr. Timmis. He is the one who would place stents for patients who have HEALTHY blood vessels and hearts and who don’t even need this type of procedure. Please be cautious of doctors of this type!

Greatest cardiologist I have ever seen.

I attended my 80 year-old uncle's visit with Dr. Timmis a couple of weeks ago. I was going as a scribe. My intention was to write and record their conversation about my uncle's shortness-of-breath on exertion. As I heard Dr. Timmis address my Uncle as if he was in third grade, I stopped writing and began engaging him. Dr. Timmis told my uncle his shortness of breath was from gastrointestinal reflux from his hiatal hernia. He failed to discuss my Uncle's moderate to severe Pulmonary Hypertension which was more likely the culpruit of his shortness of breath on exertion, not reflux disease. I am a practicing physician in Tennessee although I grew up in Highland Park, Michigan.. He had no compassion, made absurd comments about the use of statins and heart disease and basically told my Uncle he had the symtoms that all 80 year-old people had. His staff nurse who intervied my uncle before Timmis was in the small examination room was also rude and discourteous. My advice to my Uncle.… Don't go back. Find another cardiologist that knows his stuff,

I was referred to Dr. Timmis. It was my first appointment. His outer office was empty. I waited an hour and twenty minutes to see him. After taking my bp (110 over 80) and listening to my heart the dr. advised me to take medicine to lower my blood pressure. When I questioned him about this he admonished me and told me to see him a few months later. He has no phlebotomist in his office which I thought strange for a heart doctor. I found his personality abrasive and do not intend to follow up with him.

Dr. Timmis is not the best doctor I have ever seen, seems the only way that he cares for his patients is to put them on meds and keep them there. He might understand cardiology, but as far as associated diseases, issues in conjunction with the heart, lungs or otherwise and proper diagnosis, I feel he is the worst I have ever known!Everyone I have spoken to about his care has stated the same! You cannot DRUG your patients and just sit and wait for something to happen before you actually take notice and consider the alternatives. People die this way. Seems like the only discussions had- are about keeping your weight healthy and stay on the meds and run your blood work. Several times other issues have arose from testing and he did nothing about it other than add more meds and refer to a specialist and never follow up. The other major issue with that office is the staff. Particularly his main girl Barb- never will you find a more rude, and completely bitter person. She will NOT let you… speak to the doctor, she is very quick to speak without hearing any part of your question or comment, and immediately makes a decision without consulting the doctor. Horrific experience! This is not a one time occurance either! Some people should NOT be in this field, and I have just named 2 of them. What I can say is that no matter how many drugs he puts you on, like most doctors, check into alternative treatments on your own, do your homework, take care of your body and do not trust just one opinion. I would rather look around for a truly helpful and knowledgeable doctor and professional office for a year, than to trust one that has yet to prove how well all these meds are working. Remember, although some meds are really necessary, not always should you trust that these meds are "helping you". What your using to treat 1 so called "illness" maybe be very well affecting your "wellness" overall. Not happy with Dr. Timmis or this office at all. Do your homework, do your research, don't let what happened to so many people happen to you.

I needed open heart surgery 18 months ago and was unsure about which cardiologist to choose. I went to 3 different ones and he was the only one who took the time to explain everything to me in detail. Our first meeting went almost 2 hours. The other 2 docs both seemed to be in a hurry and all I got was the "readers digest version" of what was wrong and what needed to be done. His staff is courteous and professional. His bedside manner is very relaxing. He seems like he actually cares. My only complaint is my afternoon office visits sometimes run late. But I believe that is because he takes the time to talk to his patients during the day and that can lead to a backed up schedule. Knowing verything that I know now, I would not hesitate to choose him again.

As a disabled cardiac patient, I have to see a lot of doctors on a regular basis. Dr. Timmis has always been very straight with me and given me the information to help me choose the options for my care. I haven't always done exactly what he suggested, but I have always appreciated the way he talked to me (not down) and the time he was able to spend with me to help me reach the decisions I have made.

Dr. Timmis is excellent! He is professional and takes the time to obtain the information so that he can give you an accurate diagnosis. He is genuine and seeks to quickly (but thoroughly)work to resolve your concern: His care for his patients is quickly apparent. His knowledge is evident and yet there is nothing haughty about him. We feel blessed to have found him. Due to past critical health issues we have had to see many doctors and we can say that none have surpassed him!
