He then moved further East and attended the University of Maryland's College of Dentistry, where he graduated within the top 10% of his class and earned the degree Doctor of Dental Surgery. Upon graduation he was accepted to the Orthodontic Residency program at the University of Iowa, College of Dentistry. Here he earned a Certificate in Orthodontics and a Post Doctoral Masters Degree in Orthodontics.

After completing his orthodontic residency at the University of Iowa in 1990, Dr. Tottori returned to Hawaii and has been providing orthodontic services for both children and adults for over 20 years.
…During this time Dr. Tottori has remained committed to keeping up with advancements in orthodontic treatment ensuring the best care for his patients. His practice was among the first to bring Invisalign to Hawaii and now he is excited to offer Incognito Braces. These braces are individually customized to fit on the back of the teeth, and also take advantage of computer technology to plan out the treatment outcome.
Over his career Dr. Tottori has earned the respect of his colleges and the community and has not only been a member of his professional organizations but has been honored to be elected as a leader. He has been elected as:
