Dr. Steven L. Young

He is very knowledgeable and very easy to talk to. He will explain everything in great detail and takes time to answer all your questions. I don't think I would have found a better Dr. The fact that he also actively does research in his field is a great plus.

Dr. Young is an awesome doctor! I consulted with him after visiting another fertility clinic in the area, and I felt much more comfortable with him. He is very professional and knowledgeable. I became pregnant after IVF (first try), and am now a proud mother to a beautiful baby girl! He and his staff (especially Wendy) were very prompt when responding to my questions, and they made me feel like family! The office and staff are very warm and inviting. I would recommend him to anyone experiencing fertility issues!

I 100% recommend Dr. Young and UNC Fertility for IVF & uterine issues (adhesions, thin lining). I'm a resident physician in another field and I have high expectations. Dr. Young and UNC Fertility exceed them all. Regarding Dr. Young, he's an absolute expert, including on novel treatments. He's a wonderful person who radiates kindness & warmth. He's responsive to the patient's ideas. He's incredibly accessible. Regarding UNC, everyone is incredibly nice and patient-centered (especially nurse Wendy Snyder), and the clinic is very well organized and accessible, which is ESSENTIAL for an IVF cycle with many moving parts. It is the best medical care I have ever received. Thanks to Dr. Young and UNC Fertility, I'm now 7 weeks pregnant. This once seemed impossible after another physician at a different clinic said I had a 90% chance of needing a surrogate. Yet Dr. Young and UNC got me here. They saw me through surgery for uterine adhesions, post-operative office hysteroscopies, an IVF cycle,… PGS testing, three rounds of attempting FET, and successful embryo transfer, and early OB care. They celebrated the good news with me and supported me through the hard times. I'm about to "graduate" to an obstetrician, and I'll truly miss Dr. Young and UNC. They feel like family.

Dr. Young was incredibly patient with me as I had lots of questions. He spent lots of time with me, diagnosed me early and correctly, and provided kind and compassionate care through surgery, medications and eventually IVF. His staff (particularly Wendy Snyder) were always kind and helpful. Each were available my email far more often than I expected. I feel I received good care and am happy to have had success with the clinic.

He was simply the best!

Very happy with Dr. Young and his office. Any questions/concerns were answered promptly, thoroughly, and comprehensively. Never felt rushed, pressured, or uncomfortable. Their system of follow-up and communication was extremely helpful and reassuring. Going through IVF is tense enough, and it was really helpful that we felt like Dr. Young and staff were really invested in us and our dreams.

Dr. Young made us feel like he truly cared about us as people - we were definitely not "just a number" to him. He walked us through every step of treatment and always answered our questions. Highly recommended!

Dr Young was great at my initial visit, doing an ultrasound and almost immediately diagnosing a >5cm cyst on my ovary. He scheduled my husbands SA appt and HSG appt for me. Then I haven't heard from him in weeks! I was told he would contact me to discuss the results and treatment, but nothing. I've left multiple msgs for him to call me, but to no avail. Sadly I will be requesting my records be sent elsewhere.

Dr. Young is a caring doctor who will spend as much time with you as you need, answering even my never ending list of questions. He always called me personally if test results were not what was expected, and even spent time talking on the phone about why and what he would recommend. I'd recommend him to anyone who needed help getting pregnant without reservation.

My husband and I went to Dr. Young because we were having trouble conceiving and we had been trying for over a year. We ended up conceiving naturally, but Dr. Young did take us through all of the testing and diagnosis. He was very patient with our questions and spent a lot of time with us. My only complaint is that it seemed he did not read our charts before each consult, and he was just reviewing them for the first time in front of us. He had forgotten which tests we had and when, and I had to restate some of my symptoms and history during our follow-up appointments. He seemed a bit preoccupied/harried during some appointments but not others. Otherwise he was great and we would see him again.
