Dr. Stewart Roy Reiter, MD

I started with Dr. Reiter about 9 months ago. He is very warm and caring and takes his time during each appointment. He was also very responsive when I needed to speak with him after hours a few times.

I spent a year going to him after my long term Dr. retired. He is a cold, mean person who seem to take pleasure in my inability to get better from an episode of major depression. He was rude at times, yelled at me at other times. When I finally said I knew he didn’t like me, it was so obvious, he yelled at me a little more. Told me I didn’t know a thing about him. Then charges $300 for the pleasure. This man needs to retire ASAP. No interest, patience or bedside manner.

Dr. Reiter is a robot. Asks the same list of questions every appointment. Loves to increase meds even with evidence of low tolerability. It is all he has: his pen and rx pad. If you are hoping for someone to make you feel better, this guy isn’t the one.

Professional, informative, present and thoughtful. I would highly recommend Dr. Reiter.

I went back to see Dr Reiter after 20 years, feeling depressed , and needing a change. He was kind,understanding, and knowledgeable in his field. As I remembered him from before, he is a cut above other psychiaratrists I have been to. Can't understand the bad reviews.

Reiter prescribed me ineffective medication for my anxiety and spent an entire meeting berating me about how he, based on 10 minute conversations that we had every other month, knew better than I whether my medication was working (and then charged me an extra $25 for the extra 2 minutes of berating). Avoid this guy at all costs.

Went to him for some time because of his clinical skills but he is rude, uncaring, and lacks social skills. Finally switched physicians because he was so condesending that he made me very upset.

I've been working with Dr. Reiter for several years in therapy as well as medical management. His style is that he comes across as a "blank slate" but I have found him to be caring and enormously helpful, particularly during a very difficult period of my life. Yes he is expensive but that is the going rate for psychiatrists.

Dr. Reiter is a superb clinician with excellent bedside manner. He is warm and empathic. He is the best psychiatrist I've ever seen.

Very good for managing meds. Does not do therapy. Charges 250 and pushes you out in under 1/2 hour!
