Dr. Stewart Zachary Zweikoft, MD

Dr. Zweikoft was alright the first time I saw him and he even explained what type of injection he was going to do, etc. However, I was not informed about the second procedure type until I was all checked in at the outpatient/ 'assembly line' center. You feel like a number rather than a patient. Anyway, I'm not sure exactly what went wrong but my pain was intensified 10 fold! It was so bad that I couldn't even drive myself back to the doctor's office for over 2 weeks! Once I finally was able to go back to see Dr. Zweikoft, he was very unsympathetic, condescending and just outright rude to me about the entire situation. Then, out of the blue, he had the nerve to say 'I'm not giving you any muscle relaxers". I never even asked for muscle relaxers, I was just explaining to him what he had done had caused me a lot more pain. I refuse to be treated that way by anyone much less a doctor who's only been practicing for a short time. I would not recommend this doctor to my worst enemy. For the… record, I saw him twice in 2014.

Every time I have gone in for a schedule office visit, I'm left waiting (along with everyone else in the waiting room) for over an hour past my scheduled time. I was finally scheduled for an injection, took the day off work, found a ride, etc, only to get called the morning of the appointment to say that insurance hadn't approved the procedure because they (the office) filed it incorrectly. So I had to reschedule for the following week. Following week comes and they call the day before asking if I can come in 30 min earlier than scheduled, I say sure, no problem. So i get there at 9:30, don't get called back until 11, then don't even make it into the procedure room until 12. And I was not the only person this was happening to. I have to have another procedure done a few weeks later and the day before it's scheduled, they call me to say that they screwed up the paperwork and did not get the authorization and have to reschedule for the following week! They said the person that screwed… up is no longer with them. Now I have to take more time off work, find a ride, etc. I would have switched docs a long time ago but insurance makes it so hard, but this will be the LAST time I go to this office. Also, steer clear of Dina. She's rude, condescending, don't return phone calls, etc. I have nothing positive to say about any of this experience.

I have been a patient of Dr. Zweicoft for 3 and 1/2 years. I have a complicated case, degenerative disc disease, sciatica, spinal stenosis, spinal fusion at the L-5/S-1, arthritis, multiple herniations in the lumbar, thoracic, and cervical spines. To complicate things further I suffered a stroke that left me paralyzed on my right side of my body. I will be 48 this spring. I have been seeing pain management since 2006 and starting seeing Dr. Z upon relocating here to Pensacola. From the first visit his staff have been very friendly and efficient, always helpful when referrals or an authorization is needed. Dr. Z can be very direct, which I like, he explains everything in great detail and goes out his way to make sure that you understand exactly what his approach will be. I have had many outpatient procedures over the past 3 years, spinal injections, radio frequency on my lumbar and thoracic, and pain blocks. He is not excessive, I call it routine maintenance. Overall Stewart Z. Zweicoft… is a very good pain management specialist, not a drug pusher, like many other pain management doctors are. He uses a plan of treatment that utilizes pain medications combined with cutting edge medical procedures that has allowed me to maintain a good quality of life! I have nothing but good things to say about Dr. Z and his staff.

I would never send any one else to Dr. Z , I've been there to many years now. the head nurse never gets your MEDS sent in on time about 30% of the time.and you will dislike her for sure . Dr stewart zweikoft i had spent many times at CVS, pharmacy and many days with out my meds . the pharmacy all know what go's on when they mess up and they also will give you any of there contacts info about the good doctors with much far better bed side manner. 45-1 hour wait also.

waited over an hour for each appointment, tried to get a referral through their office...waiting 1 month and counting, and it still hasn't left their office. They are rude when I call to check up, have lost my referral serveral times, and act like it's my fault. This place SUCKS!

Frequently waited 1.5 hours past my appointment time to be seen, appointments were rushed, they didnt bother to tell me for 6 weeks that they were only treating part of my problem and that I need a referral to someone else for the other part. I have been waiting on the referral for weeks (they keep losing it, despite repeated phone calls). Staff is rude and unhelpful. They do not answer the phone or return messages. AWFUL place!!!

It took a month to get into see Dr. Zweikoft, after being referred to him by previous Dr. who moved out of town. Visit went OK, and was told I would have to get an MRI before he could do anything for me. Was informed by staff it would be about a week to set up MRI and they would call to let me know date.Waited 2 weeks and called to check on Apt.and was told they were waiting on insurance to respond to request. Called back a week later still to response from insurance. Called insurance co., guess what, they had NO request for MRI. Called back to Dr.s office and got a flat out lie from Candice saying she had called and left message. To put in a request you just fax request, you do not call anyone. the insurance sends back denial or approval. Was told she had tried to call me twice, and that my phone was not working, lie, I was using my phone and it was working fine. Not sure about the Dr., he seemed fine, But with a staff that is rude, and lies to patients who are waiting for medical… care, you just might want to look for different Dr.

Dr. Zweikoft did a fine job with the steroid injections in the operating room. Afterwards, I went through my pain medication too fast and Dr. Zweikoft treated me as if I was a drug user needing more meds. I am not a drug user nor have I ever been. I just wanted relief from the pain. I definitely prefer Dr. Alo over Dr. Zweikoft. Dr. Alo is much easier to talk to and does a better job treating headache/neck pain issues.

We are now going on 6 weeks trying to schedule a referral appointment through his staff. Unconscionable! We left messages and made phone calls, all to no avail.
