Dr. Stuart Alan Bair, MD

Dr. Bair is very direct and to the point. He not only reviewed what I had to say but spent the time observing as well as getting 10+ people to review my son before a diagnosis was made. After 1 1/2 years of medication, my son had side effects and Dr. Bair was able to help us with a medication switch. His appointments are convenient and he is extremely straightforward. Some people can't deal with that, especially if the parent might be contributing to the problem. I like him very much and would continue to recommend him as I have in the past.

This guy is arrogant, pompous and judgmental. He believes that parents are the problem and treats them accordingly. After inviting my ex and I to bring our concerns directly to him, he told me it was none of my business. I'd pull my son, but the struggle with his father wouldn't be worth it. DON'T GO HERE!

As a mental health professional,I was shocked at the intervention he recommended for my child at the initial interview. When I informed him I was a 'mandated reporter', and unlikely to be able to follow through, he said "who's going to know?" Needless to say, I did not return.

We are not able to offer any insight on this doctor's psychiatry skills, because we left his office after spending only five minutes with him. However, first impressions are everything, and I do not have a high opinion of this doctor. From the first phone call to our actual consultation appointment, there was not a warm or friendly vibe to be found. How parents get past that to bring their kids to him is beyond me.

I think he is very knowledeable but can be a bit cold. We are early in the process so we shall see if hs can help our family. Hope so.
