Stuart Beauchamp

I just read some reviews from 2022. Sounded like a sad 'feel sorry for me' story. Dr. Beauchamp and his staff are nothing short of professional and friendly. He is on top of technology available for the work he does. This is a wonderful office, atmosphere, and knowledge. I recommend it to anyone who needs this kind of work done a dentist does not do.

On Thursday May 19th, I was brought to a dental appointment at Ormond Beach Periodontics and Implant Dentistry to see Dr Stuart Beauchamp in my wheelchair with a neck brace on by my caregiver. I’m a 41 year old woman who is disabled from a long term illness that is related to a neck injury and the position of my jaw and dental occlusion. I was wheeled into the room and told the assistant that I’d have to stay in my wheelchair for the visit. Because of my neck injury, being at an angle in the dentist chair is potentially problematic for me. My goal for the visit was to have the dentist look at some scans that I brought, take a look at my mouth as much as he could from my wheelchair (the main teeth that I hoped to discuss are at the front of my mouth) and ask a few specific questions regarding the treatment that they offer and what is potentially possible for bone grafting and LANAP laser treatment. I was just hoping for information and guidance. I did not expect a thorough exam,… just for the dentist to discuss what might be possible and to start to formulate a plan. The dentist came in, spoke with me for about 30 seconds and then refused to talk to me because I could not get into the dentist chair. I explained that I could, but that it may be problematic and that it would be safer for me to stay in the wheelchair to ask my questions. He said it’s “the standard of care for me to look in your mouth” and that he couldn’t do it in the wheel chair. He abruptly left and refused to return. I spoke with the dental assistants and explained that I might be able to get into the chair with the neck brace on, but that it would impact my ability to open my mouth. They were unwilling to discuss any further and told me that I had to leave. I told them that I wasn’t leaving until I had a conversation with the dentist because it was difficult for me to get there and that I only had a few questions. They then threatened to “call the authorities” to have me removed. Temping as it was to allow the police to escort me out, I asked my caregiver to take me home. Instead, and through the encouragement and support of friends, I am filing a report with the ADA for discrimination of a disabled person. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this dentist to anyone in the disabled community. You will likely not get a modicum of compassion.

Dentist refused to answer any questions from a person in a wheelchair. Refused to have a civil conversation. Left in the middle of the exam and refused to come back. Threatened to call the police!

Overcharges for everything. I paid for an implant and needed a follow-up because the restoring dentist said there was a problem. He charged me again to look at his work. I ALREADY PAID FOR THIS. Watch your wallet in this place and make sure you ask upfront about ALL charges. Quality of work is average and acceptable. He tries to be nice while cleaning out your wallet.
