Dr. Stuart Taylor Jarrell, MD

After having a MRI for my lower back I saw Dr. Jarrell. He told me there was nothing wrong with my back. I questioned why was I having so much pain and he said maybe just overuse. Approximately two weeks later my left side became paralyzed as I wad stepping down. I fell down the garage steps. I knew something was wrong so I called their office and asked if he could look at the MRI again. A nurse called me back and said he did and nothing was wrong with my back. He suggested I see a hip orthopedic. The hip specialist could tell on an xray my L5 was compressed on my left side. I'm very disappointed. I've been needlessly in pain for months and was seriously injured in the fall.

I met Dr Jarrell 6 years ago for a level 3 cervical fusion. I have seen a few Doctors over the years and Dr Jarrell is absolutely amazing! He is attentive, empathetic and generally concerned for my health and recovery. Fast forward 6 years later and I am needing level 1 cervical fusion. I met with Dr Jarrell on 7!31/2023 and his demeanor and bedside manner is exactly the same! Very attentive and understanding of my condition. I trust Dr Jarrell with all my future spine care. Cannot say enough good things about his office staff and Dr Jarrell. If you are considering spine or neurological surgery and are undecided then please take my advice and make an appt with Dr Jarrell. So very appreciative of his care both with surgery and aftercare.

Dr. Jarrell met with me to review the imaging results in detail. He offered several non surgical treatment plans and 1 surgical. He thoroughly explained the pros and cons of each. I opted for the surgery since I’d already completed PT with very limited improvement. I’m over 65 and holding off any surgery is no longer sensible since I’ll only increase surgical risk with age.

I am more than a year into my spinal fusion and Dr Jarrell changed my life. I am pain free. This was my fourth back surgery and a major one... and I am finally fixed.
