Dr. Stuart Miller, MD

Saw Dr. Miller a few years back for quite frightening palpitations. I was experiencing lots of anxiety because of the arrythmias. So Miller squeezed me in the office one day after an episode, told me I was probably having "panic attacks" and that I needed to schedule a more comprehensive appointment. I expressed worry about having another episode, but Miller made a really calloused remark that "I don't have time today to delve into your problem - reschedule another appointment". I think he suspected 'psychological' issues and was essentially, blowing me off (and, what *if* it were psychological? Any less significant??). In any case, he was rude and lacking in any compassion. Now for the record, I visited an endocrinologist who I knew and agree to see me. He spent at least 30 minutes examining me, was extremely compassionate, prescribed a sedative, and told me to call anytime with concerns; this act of kindness alone was enough to quell my anxiety, something sorely lacking with Miller's… visit. And by the way, I was ultimately diagnosed with Mitral Valve Prolapse after 24 hour monitoring and echo - the cardiologist attributing the arrythmia AND anxiety to the MVP. In conclusion, a negative overall experience.
