Dr. Stuart Septimus, MD

Would never recommend this doctor. I used to go to him when I was a child and it was terrible. He told me at age 12 I needed bariatric surgery- always commenting on my weight. Despite me being active. I used to avoid his phone calls and delay appointments for as long as possible because he gave off weird vibes. I eventually stopped going and got my doctor to monitor my condition. He was ALWAYS running late for appointments and kept you waiting. He would repeat things at nauseam and just overall not a kind person.

Dr. Septimus dismissed my symptoms for several years as a teenager and made me feel like a head case, so I continued to ignore them as an adult--until I had a terrifying cardiac event while running. A cardiologist performed an electrical study and ablation after my family doctor diagnosed me with a congenital heart defect that explains my lifelong symptoms--meaning Septimus missed it all those years when I was seeing him. I thought perhaps the science just wasn't there back then, but I see PubMed articles published around that time on reliably diagnosing my condition in pediatric patients. In addition to being condescending, Septimus commented about my weight at every appt., positively if I'd lost and judgmentally if I'd gained. That's an inappropriate way to treat a teenage girl, and very strange given that I was not medically overweight! My parents made me put up with him because he was a "good doctor." Finally properly diagnosed and treated, I beg to differ! What a jerk!

Dr. Septimus was very nice and very helpful, but... It took him 2 hours to explain the condition that I have. He was very slow, and he would explain things over and over, even though he did not need to.

Septimus saved my son't life by recommending a specific treatment for a rare condition most doctors don't know about. I know a few other people who have had to see him for their children's issues as well, and everyone agrees that he is the one you want to place your child's life with, if you must be faced with such a decision. I would not go anywhere else - don't care what people say about wait time and other dumb things that don't matter when you are treating an organ that has no backup.
