Dr Smith graduated from the University of Oregon with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, and minors in Organic Chemistry and Genetics in 1970. Following this, he entered the UCLA School of Dentistry and graduated in 1976, with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Dr Smith was a dentist in an exclusive children's clinic in 1977. Dr Smith worked in a group dental practice in 1977. In 1977-78, Dr Smith directed the Clovis California Rural Indian Dental Health Clinic. He also established his dental practice in Fresno, CA, in 1978.Â
1989 Dr Smith attended the University of California School of Dentistry Implantology Program, the first program of its kind, which he now integrates into his longstanding dental practice in Fresno.Â
