Dr. Stuart M Wyckoff, MD

If I could give less than 1 star I would. Horrible, evil man who prayed on the hopelessness of families and was abusive, inappropriate and negligent with their children while in an institutional setting. These children had no free will and were forced to do humiliating and horrible things. Families trusted this man and he took advantage of them and the system.

Believe the reviews. This man kept young adolescents in Truckee meadows Hospital in Reno NV until their insurance ran out. Plain and simple, he is an ego maniac and did not care about the children's lives he destroyed, including mine. His license in Nevada was revoked for this. Beware people, he is evil.

I personally found Dr Wyckoff very helpful. His knowledge base was as good as that of anyone I ever saw. He didn't let me get away with avoiding issues and helped me look at some very painful stuff in my past. I would guess the negative reviews I see here came from folks who didn't like dealing with stuff. Pretty sad that they need to spend time dumping on a good man who actually retired over 10 years ago.

Room smelled like eggs. He wouldn't stop eating egg salads. Plain gross

I did not know Dr. W in Nevada so I don't know how to respond to the negative, hostile reviews I read here. I was his patient on and off from 1993-2001. He was knowledgeable, professional and compassionate. He worked with me on some very painful issues and helped me resolve them. When my insurance stopped paying, he let me keep seeing him for a soft drink each session. I laughed when I read about his being obsessed with money. The only negative thing I read about him that I can even see a little bit was that he was confrontive and, at times I thought he lacked tact and diplomacy. But when he pushed me about things, it always ultimately led me to a better place. I feel bad for those angry patients. But I got better and feel like Dr W was the one to get me there.

Worried about people's needs over himself, puts in alot of time and effort

He was kind and caring, really taking the time to understand my situation. I'm black, living in a pretty white area and worried that a white, southern psychiatrist would be a problem. That turned out to be silly. He was always respectful of me...even when I didn't want to hear things I needed to hear. The most telling thing was when my insurance ran out and he kept seeing me for free. I owe my life to him!

please be careful with your pocket book. This racist name calling ego centered man should have been kicked out of the field years ago. Do your research he was sued by many families for the abuse he inflicted upon his patients. He did it with a smile and a reminder that their money paid for his cars, houses and pools. Beware!
