As a Dr. He is very good. His knowledge of medications and which interact with other meds is amazing. His staff is awful! We have been with him for at least 6 years and finally have had enough! When they forward faxes to Express scripts, they never check to see if they received them. So when I call Express scripts they have no record of receiving a fax- this has been going on all of 2020. When you try to call Dr. Rao about the meds they want you to make another appt as their answering machine explains. Then if you have MOAA supplemental insurance, they won’t understand it only reimburses us for copays and helps with medicine costs-no matter how much we have explained it to them. We have overpayed them this year for visits with my husband and I due them not listening and they have refused to refund us the money they owe us. Any other office or hospital we deal with has. So finally we have decided that enough is enough and have left. The issue with the official staff will never… resolve because it is Dr. Rao’s wife and they have a constant turn over of staff. So if you don’t like to deal with insurance companies and paperwork avoid this Doctor

Dr. Rao is the best psychiatrist there is. If you need a good one he is the one to choose. I can't tell you about my visits but I have seen many other psychiatrist in my days and by far he is the best. He actually listens to you and talks to you. He's not like those who say "so how does that make you feel". From the bottom of my heart there is no other than him. I am a patient of his and because he has been helping me. I want to do something nice in return. Please believe this message and take my word. You wont be sorry.

Do not visit this doctor! He is a poor excuse for a Psychiatrist. He is argumentative, doesn't listen, interrupts and rushes you out the door. I'm not sure how he can effectively diagnose a person. His office staff is not organized and tried to make me schedule a duplicate appointment for something that was supposed to be completed in the first appointment but the doctor forgot! NO, he just wants your money so he manipulates the visit to get you back in!! BEWARE!!!!!!!!!
