Dr. Subhash S Kulkarni, MD

Dr. Kulkarni is the visiting psychiatrist at Momentum at South Bay in East Islip. He recently did an evaluation on my mother, at this rehab facility, as the family's request. We thought our Mom should be prescribed an antidepressent. The doctor did wind up prescribing something for her and that was the last we heard, until yesterday. We asked the staff doctor at Momentum if Dr. Kulkarni could re-evaluate our Mom, for signs of dementia. To our surprise, he already did that and noted it in our Mom's chart. The diagnosis was dementia and possible Alzheimer's. The problem...........he never notified any of the family members about this new diagnosis. If we hadn't asked, we'd NEVER know. This is truly a breakdown in ethics and communications!

once a good Dr. now sees 70 patients a day and is only in it for the money. True shame.
