Dr. Subhash Mukherjee, MD

I strongly advise against using Dr. Mukherjee for therapy or counseling. I scheduled a series of appointments with him in the summer of 2017 in good faith. Under his advice, I went through with 7 appointments because he claimed under my insurance I didn’t even owe him a copay. He spent more of those sessions bringing up real estate and his own retirement than he did addressing my concerns. I stopped seeing him because the sessions were unhelpful and I found a new therapist. Months later, I received a bill for $750. Dr. Mukherjee had charged me the full $150 for each session I had with him claiming I had “no insurance.” In actuality, he only attempted to bill me after I’d changed providers and if he hadn’t assured me I owed nothing up front, there’s no way I would have agreed to sessions that were costing me $150 when my normal copay with my provider was $30. He has since sent the bill to collections and I am disputing it. Ironically, this scenario has come up with my current therapist… as a serious point of financial stress in my life. So please, stay far away from Dr. Mukherjee unless you want to pay $150 for 45 minutes of small talk.
