Dr. Sue Iyunsook Lee, MD

I would not recommend anyone see Sue Lee as she is not a nurturing person. I saw a great psychiatrist for 16 years with my husband, then we moved to SF, where I found Ms. Lee. My husband and I went to see her as part of our marriage plan (seeing a fair adjudicator is part of how we have managed to stay together and actually love each other for 28 years). We saw Ms. Lee for five years, from 2006-2011. Ms. Lee seemed to validate my husband's reality over mine. When she loudly said to me, "You have a problem," I thought, "You know, you're right, and it's you." I'm not convinced that Sue Lee is supportive of women and their issues. She seems to have a very male-dominated outlook on the world. Women need psychiatrists who understand the complexities of women's lives. Also the gynecologist and the UCSF researcher that Ms. Lee sent me to were both media-driven and not very interested in their patients. I hesitated a long time before writing this, but I decided it was important to put my… opinion out there because psychiatrists treat vulnerable people, and it's important that these vulnerable people get a therapist who really cares about them. I did not think Sue Lee cared. In five years, I did not feel much empathy from her. She was also the most expensive psychiatrist I have ever seen and she kept raising her rates: A sign we should have quit long before we did.
