Dr. Suhasini Devi Pinapati, MD

Dr. Pinapati (who has connections to NXIVM and rented the organization a condo in Clifton Park! Google it!) should be ashamed of herself. Her work was an extension of the child abuse that my sister and I experienced at home. Pinapati was obsessed with our weights-- we were chubby kids in large part because our narcissist mother restricted our access to food, and food became a forbidden fruit. Pinapati encouraged me to "watch my weight" as early as the 4th grade. :: When my parents divorced and I became the family scapegoat (my father protected me from my mother), Dr. Pinapati encouraged my mother to take me to therapist to make me have more of a submissive reaction to her abuse. When I told Dr. Pinapati how awful it was to be coerced into unwanted therapy that served as a form of brainwashing, Pinapati told me, "Sometimes therapists tell you things you don't want to hear." Meanwhile, I needed Pinapati to call CPS. Therapy was a way that my female parent used mental health treatment as… a form of brainwashing to make me think I was a "problem child" for standing up to her verbal abuse and neglect. :: In February of 8th grade, my female parent bought me a beautiful dress that was three sizes too small, and told me I could wear the beautiful size medium dress to the dance if I lost 25 pounds in three weeks. I starved and did sit ups in the middle of the night for three weeks. I couldn't lose 25 pounds in three weeks, and thus the dress that hung in my closet for three weeks as a carrot was taken away. Three months later, my mother brought me to an Albany Medical Center endocrinologist and complained, "I don't know why she is tired and cold all the time, and why she's not losing weight faster." When I was 120 pounds, two pounds away from no longer getting my period, my mother told me, "The hardest part of any diet is the final ten pounds. Keep going." Once I lost that final 10 pounds and very clearly had an eating disorder, Pinapati did not ask me ANY questions about how this diet got started and referred me to Albany Medical Center's adolescent eating disorder specialist, Sharon Alger, who also did not ask me any questions about how my mother treated me or why I was dieting, but instead prescribed me anti-depressants that increased my risk of suicide. This is child abuse, on both Pinapati's part and Alger's part. :: At the EXACT SAME TIME that I was being see by Albany Med's outpatient eating disorder clinic, Pinapati signed a doctor's note so my mother could take my 12-year-old sister to Weight Watchers. Pinapati signed off on an adult restricting a child's access to food. My sibling describes this as the origin of her lifelong eating disorder. She has been hospitalized twice, for month-long periods, for anorexia. Because she is on Medicaid you-- yes, you dear reader--paid for those hospitalizations. :: Pinapati, you were complicit in so much child abuse. Shame on you.

She was the absolute best. I want to be a doctor because of Dr. P!

Not sure who Maureen is as my children are older and tapped out now but I'm assuming receptionist or billing department. She is as rude as they come I had to call and leave a message twice before I even received a return call. I receive a call back and at this point I am very angry because I had a balance that never got paid and it went right to collections. I tried to explain to her that they need to send bills to the patients so they know they have a balance before you send to collections she was rude in every way possible. I was so angry that I never received bills in the mail and it went right to collections. She told me I knew I had a balance because I made payment towards it and I explained to her if I made payment toward it you then send another bill with the balance. I asked her what dates did she send me those bills she told me they didn't send any. So if you owe money fyi they will not bill you they send it right to collections. I told her I wanted Dr Pinnapati to… call me back as I was going to explain to her how her billing depart is ran and she told me she don't do billing and she is not calling me back and I told her I dont care if she's billing or not I want a call back from her. She told me she wasn't calling me back and slammed the phone in my ear. So If you don't want to deal with receptionist who is unprofessional I do not recommend this office. Dr Pinapatti and Mary were great......MAUREEN not so much

Sorry but this office is less than tolerable. I have taken my child out of there and glad I did. The dr is never there and the NP lacks professionalism. The receptionist should work in a fast food joint

Awful. They do not return phone calls. I left several messages with the nurse and don t get called back until the end of the business day. Called to make an appointment and same thing, they don t get back to you. Had to call the emergency number due to my child having a high fever and was told that it is frowned upon to called the emergency number so close to closing time . Sorry that I work and didn t get home until 5:30. The receptionist is rude. The nurse practioner is rude and the doctor is not much better. I would never recommend this office to anyone who cares about their child. Happily transferring to a new pediatrician.

Dr. Pinapati was wonderful with our first two children, but missed a critical diagnosis on our third child. We have since moved on to other doctors, but I can't help feeling that we lost valuable time because of missed diagnosis and treatment.
