Dr. Suja Nagarajan, MD

I had an appointment with Dr. Suja Nagarajan. During the call I identified that I was a nurse practitioner and informed the provider that I had begun antibiotics that I had a fellow nurse practitioner prescribe. I advised I have been taking Tylenol as needed for pain with minimal relief of my symptoms. During the visit Dr. Nagarajan did not acknowledge my pain nor offer relief. She ordered studies which I completed immediately at my local lab. Three times during the visit she repeated to me that I needed to ensure that I receive treatment from a provider, which upon her initial inquiry I acknowledged and agreed. I felt she was treating me as a petulant child, and I did not appreciate her actions. At the end of the visit as she was chastising me for the third time, I was speaking about to ask about my pain when she asked could I hear her then she disconnected the call. I remained on the line to see if she would reconnect but did not. I disconnected and reconnected three times and… nothing. She did not attempt to call me. As a provider I understand closing the loop during communication with my patients to ensure all questions are answered and the plan of care is understood this was not done in my case. Further I felt she was more concerned about telling me what I did incorrectly than addressing the issues I brought up during our short visit. She did not address my pain. When I messaged her at 4am because I was up with significant pain, I was advised to take Tylenol Q4H for pain. This is quite egregious when I advised during our visit that I was in significant pain and was already taking Tylenol with minimal relief. As an African American woman who has 15+ years of healthcare experience I am very dismayed at the lack of care I received. Historically African American women have and are treated poorly by healthcare providers with their concerns neglected. I by no means was drug seeking which is the impression I get Dr. Nagarjan had. I can't imagine not providing no pain solutions to someone experiencing pain. I am highly upset with the way I was treated by Dr. Nagarajan and as a provider myself could not fathom treating any of my patients the way I was treated.

Dr Suja Nagarajan has been my personal physician for 10 years now. She is caring and responsive. I am happy to be her patient as her medical abilities are excellent and she explains things well.

Worst doctor I have ever had. Had to file a complaint after leaving the office. What a sad excuse for a caregiver!
