Dr. Sujana Venkata Rayani, MD

Very arrogant, one of the reasons I see nurse practitioners. “I am not your friend, I am your doctor”. I don’t want to be your friend, I want to talk to me as an equal. And you are not and will never be my Doctor. I believe there are 2 types of people in the field. Those who genuinely care about their patients and what goes on with them. Then there are those who are just smart and are able to become knowledgeable in their respective fields. They aren’t truly invested in the field. They see it more as a business, you are a client not my patient. You are running on her time and that is the priority. These impressions last on people and who are so vulnerable. I don’t doubt she may be a good person outside her business, but go somewhere else if you want to be respected.

It's unfortunate that I couldn't pick zero stars. I had Dr. Rayani while inpatient. There were days that she claimed that she "saw me" but did not actually talk to me. She is very medication heavy- she also would add medications without letting me know so come med time, I would have all these new meds that I would refuse because I had no idea I was supposed to be taking them. There were just random meds added in that I knew nothing about, even though I was improving and I didn't need the additional meds (my regular doctor took me off of all but one.) Also, I had been on Paxil since 2000, she took me off of it essentially cold turkey in 2019. She "tapered" it for two days. I was miserable with withdrawals and when I told her about it she said I "wasn't having withdrawals" and that my symptoms were either anxiety or something else. My regular doctors were pretty upset by this (I was too- SSRI's take a long time to come off of! And I was really sick. I lost a bunch of weight and had… diarrhea constantly for about 3 months. It got to the point where I had to smoke cannabis to keep from throwing up. Never thought I'd have to do that in my life.) Also she put me on Lamictal without telling me anything about the "rash" that some folks can get from Lamictal (which can be life threatening.) My regular doctor was SUPER mad about that! I know everyone looks at psych patients like we're all "crazy" or whatever, but trust me this woman is not good. She needs her license pulled. She doesn't have a single positive review on any website. I don't even know how she's still practicing.

I was a patient of Dr.Rayani's while I was inpatient at Mount Carmel Behavioral Health in Columbus. After asking the staff for 3 days to meet with the doctor (because I knew my fate of being discharged was in her hands), on day 4 of my 6 day stay- I finally had a 45 SECOND window to 'meet with her'. She scribbled down notes before I had even taken a seat. Did not ask me a single question about why I was there, how I was feeling or my opinion whatsoever, about my own care. The second time I met with her (for LESS than 45 SECONDS), she half-assed asked 'how are you doing?' Day 5 of being away from my three small children, I had tears in my eyes & replied, 'I just really miss my daughters.' She rolled her eyes & said 'See, I don't think you're stable.' BECAUSE I showed emotion. I mean, I can hardly blame the woman considering how terribly ran that facility is. But I had RN's, techs & even the Social Workers & Patient Advocate all echo the same opinion of her. 'She doesn't care, she… doesn't listen and she's rough around the edges.' It is mind boggling to me that someone who appears to hate her job as much as she does, would choose to be a Psychiatrist, treating people with mental health issues. It is asinine to me that this woman still has a job.

Dr. Rayani is by far the worst Dr I’ve ever had. She just puts people on meds an never talks to them.

If you’re reading this prior to making a visit, turn around to your near nest exit. I’ve had to deal with this Dr twice now. She’s very rude, just like the comments say. Money hungry and is in it for the money. She does not have one lick of care in her body. I’m disgusted with her ethics

She makes diagnoses before seeing patients, over medicates, misdiagnoses. She is heartless, just wants that big pharma paycheck regardless of damage to patients. Basically, a drug dealer with a white coat. And Medicare fraud- bleeding the system.

I’ve had the unfortunate experience of working in the same hospital as her. Her patients would beg to see me instead of seeing her. It was heartbreaking.

This Dr has issues with women and people in general. Has a very bad loud mouth and makes herself very low. Disgusted with her mentality. Makes you feel very low. She seems she is forced into this profession.

WOULD NOT REFER HER.

The Dr is very short with me during the few minutes of time that is our appointment. I'm lucky if her image is on the screen or I'm talking to just a voice coming from the lap top. I'm not sure if her " medically " trained staff should continue calling themselves that. I honestly think that they weren't able to get any type of license to provide proper patient care. Ethics and morals the staff shows towards the addict begging for help or the psych patient is far from the standard of which their sworn to uphold by choosing this career field. I'm not only a patient of Dr Rayani for both addiction and mental Heath but I am also medically credentialed who has provided years of bed side care, personal patient care for my patients in any crisis and it's appalling for that type of behavior to be tolerated buy encouraged by her office. I'm not given proper refills for my routine psych meds when staff had the knowledge of my being out. The highly addictive medication for opiate addiction is not… the type of medication to withhold from patients who are in crisis and putting them that much closer to loosing the battle with addiction. The absolute disregard for our life and relapse and possible death is not an issue that they have any interest in helping and it's a battle to admit defeat and reach out for someone to help you not die. It's the scariest, lowest point in my life and I have been close to giving the fight up from the way the staff portrayed in such discriminatory behavior. They should be ashamed of themselves!!!
