Dr. Sujata Andre Oak, MD

Seeing Dr. Oak was by far the worst experience I've ever had going to the doctor. I saw her because I had a psychiatrist refer me to her. I was underweight and had an anxiety disorder, which left me with very little apatite, which my psychiatrist called an "eating disorder" in that I was not getting enough to nourish my body. Every step of my exam with Dr. Oak took way longer than could possibly be necessary. She must've look in my ears for 5 minutes straight. After I took an EKG she informed me that I had a very slightly abnormal heart beat, so she told me I wasn't allowed to participate in my dance classes. Dance being my minor I was reasonably freaked so I called my dad. When he arrived she basically forced me to tell my dad I had an eating disorder. I felt incredibly violated by her actions. She referred me to see a cardiologist who was not on my insurance, who basically told me I was absolutely fine. It was overall a terrible, terrible experience.

I had been sick for several years when I went to see Dr. Oak. She treated me for a sinus infection, but when I didn't feel better I went back to see her. She spent quite a bit of time with me, listened to my symptoms, and when no answers presented themselves, she ordered lab work. She declared all my tests were normal and gave me a psych referral. I have since been diagnosed with an autoimmune disease and hypothyroidism, and since treatment began my symptoms have miraculously disappeared.
