Dr. Sulpicio Soriano IIi, MD

Dr. Sulpicio Soriano II, MD, is the BCH Endowed Chair in Pediatric Neuroanesthesia, Co-Director of the Neuroanesthesia Program, and a senior associate in Perioperative Anesthesia in the Department of Anesthesiology, Critical Care and Pain Medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital, as well as a professor of anaesthesia at Harvard Medical School. Internationally recognized for his expertise in pediatric neuroanesthesia, he specializes in anesthesia for complex neurosurgical procedures, perioperative brain protection, neonatal anesthesia, and the effects of anesthetic agents on the developing brain. Dr. Soriano earned his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and completed residency training at the University of California Davis Medical Center, followed by fellowship training at Boston Children’s Hospital. In addition to his clinical leadership, he directs a prominent translational research program investigating anesthetic neurotoxicity, …neuroinflammation, and mechanisms of brain injury and protection in infants and children. Widely respected for advancing pediatric neuroanesthesia safety and innovation, he is known for his compassionate, multidisciplinary approach to caring for children undergoing complex neurological surgery.
