Dr. Sumant K Chakravorty, MD

I just had my five year checkup with Dr. Chakravorty and as always he explained everything and did a wonderful job. Also, all of the people at Laser & Surgery Center in Palm Beach Gardens were very helpful and kind.

Stay away! I was overcharged for a five minute examination. $330 and he never even examined me.

Dr. Chakravorty is a 5 star physician. In today's world it is an exception to have a doctor personally call patients several times to follow up on how they are feeling. Dr. Chakravorty called me after every visit at least 2 times to check in on me. He recommended further testing that allowed me to detect early stages of pancreatic cancer, which saved my life, as this usually goes undetected. He is thorough and compassionate with great medical instincts and follow up. I would highly recommend him and give him 10 stars, if that is possible.

I'm fortunate to have doctors as friends. If I have a medical issue outside of their speciality, the question I ask my physician friends is "what is name of doctor you or your family members treat with?" I recently needed a GI doctor and the answer to the "who do you treat with" question was Dr. Chakravorty. I could not be more pleased. Dr. Chakravorty is cheerful, knowledgeable and communicates with clarity. His staff is friendly. His office is modern, clean and adequately staffed. He does not overbook and appointments times are honored (unlike some physicians, he values his patients time). He explains procedures and is patient in answering my questions. PS I never met Dr, Chakravorty before my initial appointment and do not know him socially.

Dr. Chakravorty is polite, clear, and good at explaining conditions and procedures to lay people. His appointments seem to give adequate time for me. He is personable and his staff is very friendly and helpful. The waiting room is never crowded, so he doesn't seem to overbook. I have been a patient of his for treatment of GERD for at least 10 years.

Dr. Chakravorty cares about people, not just about their illnesses!1) He was able to diagnose my illness. I saw many other gastroenterologists and they could only rule out possibilities. Dr. Chakravorty is extremely thorough and will figure out what is wrong.2) Dr. Chakravorty wants to see patients well and happy. Dealing with my illness has been at times very difficult. Dr. Chakravorty has been there for me. He has found which treatments work best for me and has tried to make living with this difficulty easier. 3) He has a great personality! Dr. Chakravorty will take time with you. He is quite funny and cheerful. Dr. Chakravorty is a true healer!If you need a great gastroenterologist, call Dr. Chakravorty!!!

I was admitted to hospital with possible gallstones. Turned out it not to be the case. Dr. Chakravorty stuck with me, ran tests and discovered I had a very severe kidney infection resistant to most antibiotics. He made sure I got the right meds and treatment. I owe my life to him. He is great.
