Dr. Sumbul I Islam, MD

They say they accept Champ VA but do not. Very misleading, I do not recommend. They are not military friendly nor military family friendly. In 10 years haven’t had someone turn down a military family member because they don’t know how to verify enrollment.

Dr Islam is the sweetest and most caring Doctor I’ve ever seen, she is always willing to help me in any way possible. Her NursesTiffany And Lesa are the best ones I’ve seen, very knowledgeable, kind, and willing to go above and beyond for me.

I met Dr. Islam when I was in ICU. She quickly earned my respect and a year later continues to do so. Caring, professional, listens, and goes over tests and labs thoroughly. Tiffany is a great and efficient nurse. The whole staff is pleasant to work with. I have many major medical illnesses and truly feel cared for by everyone. Makes me feel like I am their only patient. I would definitely recommend this office to anyone needing a caring physician.

Dr. Islam is a very concern physician, interested in solving your medical problems. She follows up on any test or medications she has prescribed for you, and continues to search for the right solution if one doesn’t work. Takes time to listen to you as if you are a human being. Doesn’t make you feel uncomfortable. Doesn’t rush when she’s with you to make you feel like you’re part of a assembly line. I’m very thankful to have her as my physician!!!

LOVE HER! She takes time with her patients to not only hear them, but LISTEN to what they are saying. I wouldn't consider going anywhere else.

I wasted too many years going to see Dr. Islam. I mistakenly thought that she was a decent doctor and continued to see,her with the same symptoms for years. I recently had a visit where I complained of these,same symptoms getting worse and she offered me medication that had nothing to do with treating my symptoms. I later wrote her a letter telling her how,disapointed I was with my visit. She responded by telling me I had 30 days to find a new doctor. I had planned to find another doctor, of course, but this just goes to show that she's a,doctor that not only doesn't listen to her patients, she also doesn't care what they think!

Gave needed prescriptions. Also gave cough suppressant pill when I had mucus during cough. Insisted my cough was dry hacking from smoking. I have never had a cough from my 2-3 cigarettes a day. Argued with me when I was hysterical needing different antidepressant. Online chart reads that I yelled at staff. The staff is nice. I was nice to them. She did not enter any of my side effects from the first antidepressant. She did not make a note that my starting pulse rate was 146 before nurse talked me down. She does not seem to care what you think or feel. I had multiple appointments for sinus infection, cough, cold issues too. None gave a great impression. This uncaring last appointment is exactly that, the last.

Too quick to add perscriptions.Too slow to question validity of perscriptions already being taken.Too quick to do all testing.Always in a hurry to end appointment.Followups for testing not given.
