When I met Dr. Isharwal I was impressed by both his competence and yes, kindness. During the biopsy and diagnostic process, I met a team that was enthusiastic about applying the latest precision technology to medical procedures and really enjoyed working together. My wife and I could not ask for better Dr. patient Communication. Three weeks post surgery ....I am thrilled with the outcome. Thank you Dr. Isharwal and the UVA team.

I would like to say anytime I have seen Dr. Isharwal he has been very pleasant and he has been very easy to understand about explaining my condition and what would be the best option. He gave me several options and explained each one of its advantages and disadvantages. I would definitely recommend him for treatment to other patients. I had several visits with Dr. Isharwal for prostate cancer. As a result of the visits I had a prostatectomy performed on me by Dr. Isharwal for the removal of cancer. I could not have asked for a more professional and caring Doctor. He fully explained the procedure to me and the possible out comes from the surgery. My surgery was a complete success, and his followup after the surgery was excellent.

Dr. Isharwal has been fantastic. I feel that I have gotten excellent care from him before and after my surgery. He explains everything in detail and is happy to answer your questions. He took great care during surgery to spare nerves. Because of that, my recovery is progressing better than I could have imagined. I highly recommend him. I'm thankful I found him.

I had 7 years of increasing PSA tests and, after several MRIs and prostate biopsies, cancer was found. At that point I was introduced to Dr. Isharwal. He surgically removed my prostate via robotic surgery and I have followed up with him since surgery. He never fails to provide me with excellent advice and is patient with questions. His description of the surgery and what to expect post-operation have been spot on. As is true with most doctors these days, Dr. Isharwal's patient schedule is full and his time limited but that doesn't mean he'll not take the time I needed to address any concerns. I have been very happy in Dr. Isharwal's care and would recommend him and the entire UVA Urology Staff.
