I became a patient of Dr Som after an unexpected a hospital stay. He is a true gentleman, he is compassionate, caring, takes time to explain everything. I have been a patient now for almost 2 years, I would not consider any other cardiologist. He is the absolute best

Dr. Som sits down and listens and have always given me the time to make my own decision. He saved my life in 2008. Since then I have always followed his advice and his recommendations. .

My friend and uncle both needed stents last year after heart attacks. They were both treated very respectfully by Dr. Som (they declined surgery) and Dr. Som did the stents that saved them. I accompanied both of them to his office and each time he did the same thing. Would happily recommend anyone who seeking a great cardiologist in Union or Morris county to seek out Dr. Som

Relaxed and complete with regard to every detail. Always very courteous. Saved my life during a heart attack and I owe my life to him.

Dr. Som has seen me several times for minor ailments. But he has always been fully attentive and will go over my chart with me and medications and answer every question.

I am 89, and most of the time I am given a quick or a cursory exam and evaluation during my routine and urgent visits to a doctor (which by the way are sadly filled by nurses, PA, or NPs most of the time). But Dr. Som took his time, spent more than 40 min to examine very thoroughly and then explain each and every issue with care so I that I can understand and personally made the follow up appointment for me- just like the good old (ancient) times. I am now better because of him and always look forward to see him.

He was so caring and thorough in his exam. Quite frankly I was surprised, but I did appreciate it a lot. I was previously seen for the same problem by a nurse practitioner at an urgent care center who obviously didn't have a clue to what she was doing (not surprised anymore). Glad I took a second opinion.

Dr. Som is the best doctor that I EVER HAD. Very professional and courteous but often strict if the need be. He answers every question I have, and takes time to find it out if he doesn't have an answer right away. He saved my life when I went I there for his second opinion after a lousy incompetent NP was treating me grossly wrong. I wish all my other doctors were so caring like him and the public would STOP GOING TO THE quacks called NP and PA who nowadays fill up most practices.

Dr. Som is a truly exceptional human and a very skilled physician. I went to see him multiple times for routine care, for urgent, and at times for emergent conditions. He always takes his time to explain stuff in detail; he is very thorough and will never do an unnecessary exam or tests, which is what I really like about him. He always calls me back with important test results personally and follows up as long as needed until its resolved. He is also very professional and honest about his medical opinions, which I admire.
