Excellent doctor and staff!

I am moving to another allergist, I've had enough of Dr. Perera and his poorly managed practice. I am a long-term patient and have loved his staff... very professional and work great with my child. When one of his top doctors, the only female, abruptly left the practice I was concerned but continued forward. Moving under the direct care of Dr. Perera I have never felt so belittled or humiliated by a medical professional. He is extremely sexist in his views but I dismissed as he is an old man. During my last visit I was leaving the exam room and over heard him talking in the hall with a pharmacy rep and he was discussing a patient by name. I waited outside and asked the rep if he was an employee of Dr. Perera and he said no so I questioned if that conversation I heard was some sort of violation of patient's privacy. The rep laughed it off and said 'oh, that's just how Dr. Perera does things'. Well, this patient says never again! Between losing some great staff members over the past six… months, to the best doctor he had, to his very insensitive and sexist conversations to me, and now this? I am voting with my insurance dollar and taking my business elsewhere.

After 4 appointments including full allergy testing, Dr. Perrera insisted on additional appointment to determine if I was a candidate for allergy shots when I took allergy shots for years prior to moving to the Sacramento area- one of the most highly allergen cities in the US.

Great allergist, very thorough and hollistic.
