Dr. Ferns is truly the best of the best. My son has autism, and she went above and beyond by taking the time to sit down with him, hold his hand, and carefully explain a very complex cardiac surgery she was about to perform in a way he could understand. Although he has undergone many cardiac surgeries, this experience stood out as the easiest and most positive for us. Our son could sense that she genuinely cares, and that made all the difference in the world! We cannot thank God enough for sending her our way.

Dr Fern is amazing. Our son was taken for an ablation three times with failed results until we were finally referred to Dr Fern. Dr Fern was able to get done in half the time what multiple others had failed before and thanks to her our son has been free of his tachycardia over a year later. He finally has his life back again! Thank you Dr Fern. You have been God's gift to our family!

Dr Ferns is the best most talented doctor ever. If your child has WPW this is the doctor for him/her. Our son failed two ablations with other surgeons before we saw Dr Ferns and she was done within 2 hours. His shortest ablation procedure and it was successful!!!!!

We called to schedule our son's visit and found out this week that Dr Ferns is no longer at UNC. She has been the best doctor our son has ever had, period. UNC's loss will be someone elses gain.

Dr. Ferns is brilliant and compassionate. She has helped us with our sons pacemaker surgery and has given us very good advise over the last few years. She understands our son and his congenital heart block condition and was able to explain it to him in the simplest way when he was only 5! We trust her and are grateful we have her help.

Dr Ferns was a lifesaver. We were referred to her for surgery for our 5 year old with WPW. She explained everything so well, my son was looking for ward to his procedure and he hates doctors visits. He was back playing with his pre-school class the next day. We cannot me more thankful for her expert skills!!!

Our pediatrician at Duke referred up to D Ferns and we will forever be grateful to him. Dr Ferns performed arrhythmia surgery on our son this yea. He had failed two prior surgeries at UCSF and we were told that it was impossible to perform the procedure without him requiring a pacemaker afterwards. Dr Ferns was able to successfully treat his WPW without the dreaded complication we had been warned about and Ben escaped a pacemaker. God Bless her!

We were referred to Dr Ferns by our Pediatrician who told us her patients have had many positive experiences with this doctor and we were not disappointed. I admit, I was initially skeptical about a doctor who looked not much older than my daughter who is in high school. She was extremely skilled and tackled a very difficult ablation surgery. My daughter Hannah, had had a prior attempt at the surgery when we were in California and it was not successful but Dr Ferns did it! We will always be grateful that we moved to North Carolina and were fortunate to meet her here.
