Dr. Sunitha Aluri Sunkavalli, MD

I'm writing on behalf of my wife who was a patient referred to Dr. Sunkavalli for an MRI guided breast biopsy. This procedure took close to one hour, caused excessive bleeding, discomfort, and was a complete failure. And, just prior to the procedure, the Doctor told my wife that she hopes she can find the lesion. This is far from reassuring. The final results indicated that the biopsy could not be performed as the area could not be accessed for the biopsy. She also placed a clip in the area to mark the lesion that she attempted to biopsy. We made the decision to see another doctor from a different hospital system who also referred my wife for another MRI Guided Biopsy, but this time it took less than half the time, was far less invasive, and more importantly, successful. Fortunately, the biopsy was benign which led to a conclusive and less invasive treatment plan. The clip that Dr. Sunkavalli placed to mark the lesion was also found to be in the incorrect area.
