Dr. Sunny Kumar, MD

After 7 years of watching my son slowly die - multiple UHS hospital visits where I was dismissed. Dr. Kumar was the only provider that listened to me and took my concerns seriously rather than treat me like a mother in denial; when I said "this is more than diabetes". He understood that 60/30 is NOT a normal or acceptable blood pressure nor in this case a result of dehydration, hyperglycemia or infection. He did not order antihypertensive medications because the supine diastolic pressure was 80 like the previous Hospitalist. He listened when I said my son has orthostatic pressures and syncope. He ordered the proper medications and my son no longer has syncope, he is improving mentally, cognitively and physically. However years of starving the cells of oxygen has resulted in long term damage but at least he can stand up now! The only UHS provider worth seeing. Thank you for saving my sons life.
