Dr. Suparna Dutta, MD

Dr. Dutta was not at all empathetic and an incredibly negative person. She had nothing good to say about the procedure I was about to have. Even when I tried to turn the conversation around, she kept up the doomsday pedantics. I have had much experience with surgery at Kaiser, but I never met a doctor with so much coldness and negativity. I was shocked. Maybe she was having a bad day but I would never see her again.

I saw Dr. Dutta this morning for a very debilitating sciatica condition. She explained my problem and then showed me the MRI film revealing the protruding disc that is the main culprit. Contrary to the alleged experience of the negative reviewer, in her examination of me, she was gentle while testing the strength in my legs; she took care not to cause me pain. In her explanation of my problem and my options for a cure, she revealed that she is one smart doctor. I landed on this web page, just to get info about her background. I rarely write reviews, but I felt I had to rebut the poor review.

Talked over every question I was trying to ask. Very dismissive, robotic and abrupt throughout our encounter. I had to ask 4 times for her to show me on the spine model, where injections would be made before she finally complied. Though I was in great pain, her manipulation of my legs was very rough. She was not looking at my face while throwing my legs from side to side, so she couldn't gauge how much pain she was inflicting. Even when I yelped in pain during one very abrupt maneuver, she didn't modify or soften her approach, or seem to feel it necessary to apologize for hurting me. I would only return to this doctor under extreme duress.
