UCSD is full of PCPs who gives you a blood test and if they are ok, you cannot convince the PCPs that you have symptoms. They think patients are psychosomatic. Guess what? Those blood tests do not recognize backpain, spinal cord damage, sports injuries, MS and many other diseases. Doctor Achar is your best bet if you are having a disease that other PCPs could not diagnose and they would not refer you. I totally agree UCSD office staff is rude, they treat patients in a way that should be taped and showed on TV. You can go to UCSF or UCI to see how office staff and nurses treat patients. Even Scripps or Sharp is much better. Despite having some outstanding specialists UCSD urgent care, staffing is the worst ever.Their nurses will create a IV line on you even when you do not need one (because their statistics is poor and they want to improve it by doing IV lines on every healthy patient)

I saw Dr. Archarr for one year as my primary care doc, but I switched him becuause I always feel that he is in too big of a rush and doesnt listen to me. He didnt take me serious when I said my feet were numb he said I was too young for serious problem and I ended up in emergency room. If i could give him a zero star, I would.

Dr. Achar is very personable. He is concerned about his patient's health. He is a logical clinician and well-versed on traditional medicine and what the studies show. He is encouraging and willing to spend time to answer all questions. Probably the best family/sports physician I have ever had.

Dr Achar is extremely knowledgeable. It is very obvious that he spends a great deal of time researching medical topics; he consistently has the latest data to pass along to his patients. He is a caring and attentive physician (I always feel as if he has time to listen), and I have the utmost confidence in his diagnosis and advice. UCSD is very lucky to have him on their team of physicians.

One of the better GP's I've been to. Once you get through the waiting, he's knowledgable and professional. The UCSD computer system allowed him to immediately research multiple causes for my symptoms, he was clear in explaining what everything meant and what my options were, and all labs, x-rays, etc. were easily scheduled with little to no wait time. The office is comfortable as well, and the staff very courteous. Overall a very good experience.

The office staff at the LJ/UTC practice is just plain rude. Both checking in for an appointment and on the phone. They give patients this attitude and when you are sick who needs that? Then they say at the end of the phone call or check in, "Is there anything else I can help you with.." in a fake voice to insure customer service points. Yeah, actually you can be nice and get me in to see a doctor if I am not improving after ten days on your prescription since I have a serious infection!As a result I have had to visit ER twice to get help, since my own primary care practice can't help me for at least a week! They are apparently booked with a dozen doctors. The parking situation is even worse! It is underground and a true nightmare to park your car without feeling like you are going to hit the columns holding up the structure. I drive a Honda, not an SUV and I sweat the parking every single time. Plus, of course they rob you blind parking underground and parking on the street is almost… impossible.The hardest part though is when I have been really sick, I cannot get an appointment, even though they must have a dozen doctors there.I like Dr. Achar, but I will be looking for a new primary group as soon as my current illness is over.

Hi, I thought he should pay more attention to the diagnosis of the disease.He should follow a complete examination of the patient should be done which he and check every aspect to the disease.
