Dr. Surayda Julissa Herrera, DO

Very cold ..no warmth or compassion..never asked about my history..I will look for a new doctor.

I was referred to Dr. Herrera by my former primary care physician, who retired. I went for my first visit with her, not sure what to expect. To start, she was 55 minutes late. She proceeded to sit down at the computer, and go through the paperwork I had completed. She asked me just about every question on there, despite the answers being written down Never once did she make eye contact with me, and she did not ask for further details on any of my medical history, including my Bipolar Disorder. She simply asked if I was seeing someone for that, and then moved on. Did not ask about how it manifests itself in my case, how the medication has been working, what other medications I've taken nothing. She showed absolutely no interest in me as a patient, let alone a person. She gave me no insight or help with a skin irritation I've had. When I asked her about the insurance communication (whether or not she/her office let the insurance know that I've had a physical, for the Health… Enhancement Program), she had no idea. She then informed me that I'd actually have to come back for a physical, because this was not a physical. She said, "It's basically the same thing, but you'll need to come back." I guess this was somewhat reassuring, since she did very little to actually examine me I remained clothed the entire time and she simply did cursory pats here and there. She ended by saying, "See you in a year." I am going to be looking for a new doctor.
