Dr. Surekha Perlman, MD

Staff is absolutely the worst, assume it is a high turnover and that yes is part of the current climate but also likely from the top somewhere. Dr. Perlman seems nice enough, and knowledgeable. First appt. I walked in and they looked at me like why are you here? We had changed the date due to an ice storm and they acted like I got the new date wrong and they would bend over backwards and I could see the dr. I think they got the second appointment correct, gold star. The next appt. they called to remind me to come in the day before, which I said, no it was on the 28th, not 27th, I specifically wrote it down and it also happened to be on a friend's birthday so I remembered it exactly. I went in the day early. I need meds and was promised by Dr. they would call it in, no notice it was at the pharmacy, called in a week or so and was told it would be relayed to Nurse. No response. Today, a month later, I do really need them, running out, and the "old Nurse Asst." answered, I… told her the story of how I was promised to get prescribed and then called and never heard anything back. What I should have heard, I’m sorry about that. Let me help you. But….she began talking over me giving me excuse after excuse, how “she” was the old asst. and how “she” was training the new ones, ya da and I was thinking, who cares, it’s not about you. Just ask me for my information and do it. I had to interrupt her diatribe and said I don't care about all that, I just need to get my prescription. She said she would tell the new asst., and that I was being rude. Really, you can’t just do it, you have to make me wait again? I told her I was only relaying my frustration. She got upset and said it was me who was rude and hung up on me! So I called back and said I was not being rude, I am just relaying frustration with their incompetence (true). I asked for her name and she refused to give it to me and hung up again. Called back and canceled my follow-up. Anyway, looking for a new endo now. Dr. Perlman used to compliment me on my positive attitude, so I told the “old asst.” to have her call me if she wanted to know why I was leaving and she said we don’t ask and hung up. They do not care, do not go to the office.

Both of these doctors are absolutely amazing!! Their knowledge & care for their patients far exceeds any that I've gone to! Their main concern is the patient & their well being! I highly recommend both of these doctors! You will not be disappointed by any means for allowing them to care for you!!

I have been visiting Dr. Perlman for about two years now for my diabetes-related checkups. My experience so far has been great. She is thorough, personable, and caring. Highly recommended !!

I am so happy that I found Dr. Perlman. I think that being a woman you need a woman doctor. Dr. Perlman went over my medical history and talked with me at length to choose the right medication to treat my Osteoporosis. She cares about you as a person not just a patient. She is professional, highly educated, and kind. She took the time to explain everything so I understood the options before coming to the best decisions, I got in right away. No waiting. I highly recommend Dr. Perlman.

The doctor herself is very nice and patiently listens to you and is knowledgeable. However the way the office is run is another story. It takes countless phone calls to reach someone and even then, they promise to call you back with an answer but don't, even after weeks have gone by. They supposedly have an electronic portal but never can provide log in information for it, leave alone trying to access information in it. The lab set up is convenient and the tech is very competent and does a good job. However, the issue of office staff being so uncommunicative is a big turn off and the reason why I gave this only 2 stars. Would give 2.5 but that's not an option. I wish they could get their act together.

Dr. Perlman is very professional, yet very kind and caring. She makes sure her patients don't feel rushed, and listens to each comment. And her staff will go out of their way to help you understand what is happening that day. I rate this office with the highest star and praise, and I am so glad I found Dr. Perlman.

I am very impressed with my experience with Dr. Perlman and her office. She is one of the most thorough and personable doctors i have ever seen. i completely understood every detail of my results and the plan moving forward. she explained beautifully and never made me feel like she was giving me "doctor speak". Dr. Perlman is a good doctor and she helped me with my thyroid problem.

I searched high and low for ten years to find a doctor who specialized in mature female issues and was knowledgeable in Thyroid, pre-mature menopause, and struggles with unexplainable weigh gain. I found my miracle in Dr. Surekha Perlman! She is absolutely amazing. I've been a walking bill board for her having lost 50 lbs, looking and feeling great. My friends have achieved great success with her too. I highly recommend Dr. (Mrs.) Perlman (it is a wife/husband practice).
