My entire family, 3 generations, go to Dr. Raj for our colon/ GI issues. 3 RN's in the family and though we are Med Center-biased, we still go to him.

Dr. Raj is engaging, attentive, compassionate and caring. His colonoscopies are painless and has great academic credentials along with his private practice. Strongly recommend for colonoscopy.

They do procedures in the morning and if you are a late afternoon appointment you will be lucky if you get 3 minutes after waiting 20, especially if one of his children has a soccer game in the evening ... Dr. Raj, the walls are pretty thin and you speak loudly when you are talking to your wife.

I got my names mixed up in the comments below. Although - my opinion is still the same. Most of the ladies in the front need some work in costumer service. They also need to examine the wait times for a doctors appointment. I held for almost ten minutes today, just to be transfered to central scheduling because there are apparently 2 different appointment desks...and I left a voicemail at 9:30 this morning, never to recieve a returned phone call to schedule my EGD.

Dr. Raj is a great doctor, and what I would call a walking encyclopedia!! Althuogh, I would suggest seeing Dr. Raj at his Pearland office. My visit at his main office on Dixie Farm Rd. was a very long wait, and the front office attendant (kenzy) was very rude and impatient with me. The attendant at Pearland (rebecca) always greets me by my name, and always has a smile on her face. That is very impressive to remember names! I also have a very high deductible to meet, and Carmen is always very prompt to call me back, and they are willing to work with me financially as I need regular treatments.

I worked at a hospital that Dr. Raj used to do his colonoscopies at before he became part of the GI Clinic (forget the name of it). I remember how he rounded his patients at all times of the day, and paid very close attention to things in their chart. I also remember how passionate he was about how colonoscopies could catch cancer and other GI problems if done early enough. So that's why I chose him to perform my colonoscopy when I had GI problems. When he saw me as a patient, he was still very focused on details, asking a lot of questions about my GI complaints, and looking at my ultrasound and labs the OB had ordered before I saw Dr. Raj. He discussed my diet too. I wasn't suffering at the time of my appointment, so my colonoscopy was scheduled three weeks after my appointment. The colonoscopy itself was the easiest procedure I'd ever been through; the only after effect was being gassy. Once that passed (ha), I felt no pain or discomfort whatsoever. I'm pretty certain that it… went as easy as it did because he's very experienced in all things GI, and is a doctor that truly cares.
