Dr. Susan Hafiz Abed

All 3 of my kids have gone to Dr. Abed and I have come to understand how much she truly cares for her patients and the care she gives them. Her treatment plans have been different for each of my children and they have each achieved amazing results. To say I am extremely satisfied is an understatement! The staff is very professional & personable. We always look forward to the appointments and truly appreciate everything Dr. Abed has done for our family!

Wait time is less than 5 min. If I arrive early, they take my daughter within a couple minutes. Fast, friendly, and professional... Dr Abed' team is like they say, "a well oiled machine!" I would def refer this office to all!

FYI ---from a Hartland area parent to other Moms & Dads: We chose this orthodontist with some reservation due to mixed reviews from other current & past patients. During a problem-filled year of ortho care, we were told by 3 professionals (included a much loved area pediatric that our child was too young for the regimen Dr. Abed insisted on after scaring us that our child would look disfigured. Billing was a problem as the office continued billing out and taking money from the insurance company for office visits months AFTER we let them know she would not be returning. The dental insurance office agreed this was fraudulent but could not correct it because they were out of network. The worst part is that the Orthodontist scolded our child in front of other patients, accusing her of not wearing her appliance enough and hindering the process. Other parents who had to listen to this approached me in the hallway and shared their discomfort with this practice. They heard me tell her… to not treat our child this way as she was autistic and could not digest it all nor was she old enough to be belittled in a public setting. For an 8 yr old this action caused avoidable trauma and a resistance to even going to the appointments. Despite our child dealing with constant and chronic mouth sores, enough weight was loss from this process that her pediatrician stepped in and demanded the orthodontics be stopped. A follow-up visit with our pediatric dentist proved the same I did hear before we started there to watch the billing, and she actually gave us another Orthodontist name as she did not feel this doctor was appropriate for our child. but had no idea it would be such a horrible experience for my daughter. I put this out there for other parents to consider when picking out ortho care. I wish I had the insight to realize it was both for their personal well-being and thousands can be lost by picking the wrong professional. Not many families we know have that much money to give up needlessly and having long-term problems to boot. I do believe this orthodontist is skilled in her practice but would only suggest a parent bringing their child to this office if they had full blessing from a pediatric dentist and the child was mature enough to handle the draconian methods she employs. Some kids do better with that style, For the ones that don't it is too traumatic. We would also highly recommend you have it in writing that if there are any problems with the care they do not take money from your family and/or the dental insurance company. Apparently they feel justified in billing and receiving payment without a legit patient in the chair.
