Dr. Susan Elaine Berner, MD

The patient has had multiple trips to the emergency room while under under Dr. Berner's care. Dr. Berner and her associate Nurse Practitioner at assisted living facility, refused to private meeting with family to discuss current condition and changes in treatment discovered only after an emergency room visit. The emergency room doctor revealed treatment changes as they diagnosed the patient with critical dehydration. Emergency room doctors made significant changes to patient medicine being prescribed by Dr. Berner after giving intravenous fluids to raise he blood pressure. When Dr. Berner, through her nurse practitioner was questioned about the discovered changes, Dr. Berner dropped the 97 year old patient, stranding her totally without care, having just left the hospital. Dr. Berner did not call the patient she has been collecting for services for many months, but instead sent a first class letter (which arrived 3 days after the termination of services). At the best this is not… very professional. She may be a great doctor... maybe not.
