Dr. Bernstein earned her degree inmedicine from Northwestern University School in Chicago in 1978. She completed her residency at the University of Chicago Hospitals and Clinics in 1981. She completed a fellowship in neonatology at the Medical College ofWisconsin in 1995. She has a special interest in children with special healthcare needs. She has been involved at the state and national level in the "Medical Home" initiative; a quality improvement initiative for children with special healthcare needs. Dr. Bernstein is board certified inpediatrics and joined Columbia St.Mary’s in 1997.
