Dr. Susan Esther Binder, MD

Dr. Binder is an incredibly compassionate and thorough doctor. She takes the time to make sure all of my concerns and questions are addressed and is extremely kind. I am so glad she recently opened her own practice as her old office had long wait times.

Every experience I've had with this office and Dr. Binder has been frustrating and a waste of time. I got referred to her from my old dermatologist who I loved but who no longer accepted my insurance plan. I was referred to her with the warning that it's best to book at the beginning or end of the day as she often is running late and quickly learned that she's ALWAYS running late. I've always had to wait at least 20 minutes past my appointment time to be seen. During my first appointment ever, once she finally came in to see me she then quickly excused herself to take another patient's call. When she came back, we had a couple minutes before she excused herself AGAIN to make a call to her doctor. It was unbelievable. During my last appointment with her, she informed me that she can now no longer address multiple issues in the same appointment. If I needed two things checked or two prescriptions, I needed two appointments. I live in Brooklyn and travel into the city for this… so coming back unnecessarily is a huge waste of my time. My biggest issue of late is that she didn't give me very many refills on a prescription she wrote me. When I last saw her, since she couldn't write me a new prescription then since I was being seen for something else and she has this ridiculous one problem at a time rule, she told me to call in when I needed it and they'd submit the new prescription. Well I've now called in FIVE times. I've left messages, I even spoke with Dr. Binder last Thursday (now Monday) who said she'd call it in that day. She hasn't. I go out of town in two days and am about to have a problem where I will run out of the medication I need. Who knows if she'll return my most recent message. So I found a new doctor and am trying to get my medical records sent to them. Even that is a terrible process. The office doesn't do email of any kind and will only do fax or snail mail (seriously.... SERIOUSLY....?!) and will CHARGE ME per page. I asked if I could just come pick up my records so as to not be charged and they weren't sure and the person who knows is out to lunch. So again I'm leaving messages. On top of everything, Dr. Binder's bedside manner is terrible. I would be annoyed if I was having all of this administrative trouble with an amazing doctor so the fact that I'm having it with one who has been nothing but rude and disappointing is unacceptable. Cannot wait until I am DONE with this woman and her office.

Dr Binder is an incredibly caring and compassionate doctor. She makes you feel that she will spend as much time with you as necessary and never rushes you thru the visit. She is an excellent diagnostician and has excellent skills in cosmetic procedures. She did Botox and Restylane on me and no one knew I had anything done but told me I looked better than I have in years!!!!
