If it hadn't been because my husband had previous experience with therapists, we wouldn't have known that therapy doesn't work the way it happened with this person. She diagnosed our child 25 minutes after meeting her with little to no background from us. She recommended hospitalization after those first 25 min of meeting us. The days following were a whirlwind of pediatricians, a psychiatric emergency room and psychiatrists following a protocol without really knowing my child. My child's regular pediatrician was as perplexed as we were. Thankfully, again, because we knew therapy didn't work this way, we have found a professional therapist to work with my child and us, someone who really cares and who also couldn't understand the precipitated previous diagnosis. The experience made me anxious and pushed me away from wanting any kind of therapy. Our new therapist is undoing that.

I messaged Dr.Bodnar through PsychologyToday, and when she did not respond I assumed it was because the email became lost in the shuffle. Days later I emailed her and to no avail. I was actually quite saddened considering her prior ratings.
