Dr. Chen was born in Taipei, Taiwan and still has many family members living there. Her childhood was spent in the Bay Area in California, and in 1992 she moved to the Sammamish Plateau. After graduate school in 2004, Dr. Chen and her husband, Kyle, returned to the plateau and they enjoy living in the Issaquah Highlands neighborhood. They welcomed a son in 2008. Dr. Chen enjoys the outdoors, photography, traveling, and spending time with her family.
