Dr. Susan Dana Cuneo, MD

After spending five minutes in the room with us (me, husband, daughter), we passed our wellness check-in with flying colors. Once again we discussed the norm: don't leave the child unattended in the bathtub, be careful of ovens and other things that may cause burns. The training Nurse Practioner called my daughter, "Daddy's girl" and the Dr. Cuneo felt the need to share with me that dads do not get enough credit. My husband is a great father and he's heard it several times before from strangers who see my daughter riding in the front pack and from family members who actually know us. I think Dr. Cuneo's comment was uncalled for and borderline sexist. I think mothers do not get enough credit - we are expected to do all of it and more.

I should have just used the internet. An appt with Dr. Cuneo was a waste of my time and money. My child was in severe pain and not sleeping. She was entering day three of an atypically presenting ear infection. Dr. Cuneo performed of all her necessary physical assessment and history. She accurately pointed out that my daughters severe pain and discomfort could not be easily explained. This I already knew. She proceeded to tell me that if the pain increased I should take her to the ER. She also completely disregarded my questions. And left the room without addressing me as I was asking questions. While, my daughters ear infection (which was later diagnosed) was atypical it turns out that standard practice dictates SUSPECTED ear infections are treated in my child’s age group after three days regardless of a definitive diagnosis. Clearly she was busy and I’m ok with that. But she was also not helpful and didn’t even attempt to provide a service or guidance in exchange for the time… and money I exchanged to see her. I advise Dr. Google.

We've been seeing Dr. Cuneo since our daughter was born 12 years ago. She is always respectful of our daughter's changing needs and interests. Evergreen Pediatrics staff are top notch. Highly recommend doctor and office.
