Susan Ditter, MD, MPH

I have been her patient for almost 6 years now. She was the first Psychiatrist that took the time to do a thorough assessment and get to know me. She is extremely knowledgeable and experienced. I always felt that Dr Ditter has had my best interest. I don’t know how anyone can give Dr. Ditter a bad review. She is always honest, straight forward with her thoughts and does not hesitate to share. If you are looking for a Psychiatrist who is smart, non-judgmental, and caring then Dr. Ditter is an excellent choice.

The least helpful and worst psychiatrist I have ever seen. Refused to listen to me, was completely dismissive, and wanted to talk about my brother (?) for some reason instead. I never felt listened to when I went. It was awful and very damaging to my mental health. Every session with her left me feeling worse. The medications she tried putting me on made no sense. She had her own preconceived notions about what was going on with me and refused to actually listen to me at all and want to help me. At the direction of my psychologist I stopped seeing her because it was so detrimental to my progress in treatment.

I was a patient of Dr. Ditter for over six months, and over that time, she completely failed to connect with me as a patient or a person. Aside from my intake session, she never met with me for longer than 10 minutes at an appointment. I left every appointment feeling frustrated and unheard by her, but I wanted to trust the process. She had absolutely no connection to me... She could not remember what I did for a living... She forgot things about me... She never even brought up a number of serious childhood and recent traumatic events I talked about in our initial appointment. Gave me the same exact "tips" at three consecutive meeting even though I told her every time that I was already doing them. When I told her I wanted to see a different doctor, she was very defensive and wanted to argue with me about how I was wrong. When I told her that I did not feel like she was listening or connecting with me, her response was, "I was depending on you to initiate conversations." I'm… not sure if that is how it is supposed to work, but I found it very unprofessional for her to blame the patient who has no experience at all with therapy for a lack of connection!

I saw Dr. Ditter a couple of weeks ago about anxiety issues and all she could talk about was if I did street drugs, cocaine, meth, crack, mushrooms, acid... and never got to my anxiety problem then said she could help me. I think she judged me when I walked in the door and just went from there. I payed my $15 copay with a $20, and they had no change. Now I just got a bill for that copay, so the office staff is just as ignorant. This old lady needs to retire, she's soooo old school.

I had the worst experience with Dr. Ditter and her office staff at Comprehensive Psychiatric Services. I would stay away from her if you are thinking of seeing her for mental health issues. She gave me more stress than relief/help.
