Terrible Dr. She cost me a lot financially and pain and suffering. She lied to me and in my chart. This site keeps erasing my comments. Wonder why? 7 surgeries because of mesh I never wanted!!!

She put me on a clinical mesh trial for breast reconstruction.i said I didn’t want it. She did everything she could to get me to believe I would have a great result My body rejected the mesh from the very beginning. I kept having the sutures open. She kept stitching the opening. She didn’t use proper procedures, no gloves , didn’t sanitize her hands and it became.infected I had to have 7 extra surgeries and still not right. One day I had a fix surgery and later that day I started to bleed out. She didn’t cauterize everything. I was rushed to surgery. I have pictures , she lied to me and in my records. I asked her not to use the mesh. She refused, saying it was the best she put my life at risk many times. So much more to say. She is dangerous and a liar!!!! Stay away from her. PLEASE!!

She cannot be overrated as a professional surgeon as well as a person.

I was referred to Dr. Downey in 2010 evaluate a botched breast reconstruction preformed by another highly rated plastic surgeon! I had already gone thru chemo, a bilateral mastectomy & radiation treatments due to a breast cancer diagnosis in 2008. My chest looked so bad I had given up all hope when I met with her. She took the time to explain & show me what could be done to reverse the damage, & was supportive throughout the process of several reconstructive surgeries. She performed a miracle; my breasts & whole chest area looks normal again!

She did a por job in surgery and now does not want to fix it

After seeing the beautiful job that Dr. Downey performed on my sister, I went in to have the Dr. do the same for me. I have been very happy with the results and the scaring is minimal. Since my sister developed breast cancer, we have had alot of contact with the Dr. and her caring is very apparent. She has done a superb job of mastecomy reconstruction and we would highly recommend her.
