Dr. Susan Louise Epley, MD

I worked for Dr Epley for 5 yrs as her nurse and loved every second of it. When I started there I had no OB/GYN experience and Dr Epley as well as one of the nurses Debbie S taught me everything I needed to know and what a great job they did. She trusted me to speak to patients both in the office and on the phone and then she was able to give her full attention to the patient being seen. I would have stayed working for her but life throws us curve balls and people move on. I realize I don't work for her today but I just wanted to share my fantastic experience with her.

Dr Epley is a sweet Doctor. She is very caring and concern about your health. I have recommended several people to her and they have all said the same thing. She is very gentle when it comes to giving a pap. I will continue to recommend her to others.

I was very unfortunate to have seen her for my 3rd pregnancy. She was very, very impatient during delivery and gave me an episiotomy without my consent. I only pushed about 2 times and she just assumed my baby was too large. After my baby came out, he was only 6 lbs. Episiotomy was totally unnecessary. Now, I feel my down there has been ruined and doesn't feel normal. My poor sister had experienced worse episiotomies with Epley. She thought about suing but she was too young at that time and didn't get anywhere.

Dr. Epley and her staff are the BEST. I recommend her to everyone, she takes time with you and not rush you out, she answers any questions and is so knoledgable, never leaves you hanging and wandering. Thanks Doc for being the best!

I was seen by Dr. Epley in 1983, when she was at the University of Iowa.She told me I should terminate my pregnancy due to a blood disorder from which I suffer. She said I could die.A few days later, she called me at my home to follow up, saying she "cares about me as a person."'I had met her just once, for crying out loud!My hematologist predicted a better outcome. Although I was very, very ill during my pregnancy, I had a healthy baby and lived to tell about it.A year or two down the road, she was sued by another patient. According to the newspaper, she had told this patient to terminate her pregnancy because her baby had died.This patient also gave birth to a healthy baby.This is all documented in patient and court records.

I switched to Dr. Epley for my 2nd pregnancy after a bad experience with my first doctor who was like Jekyll and Hyde. Everyone at OBGYN & Assoc. is great. I actually don't mind my yearly exams because I know it will be a good experience.
