Dr. Susan Erk, DO

I went to Dr/ Susan when I moved to the area. She is very kind and soft spoken. When I had issues she discovered that I had endometrial cancer. Between her, Dr. Mehmet and the oncologist I had a hysterectomy and have been cancer free for 8 years. I would recommend her to anyone.

I'd give it a 0 if I could. If you need a Dr or practice that listens to or cares about their patients, DO NOT GO HERE. I have had issues since being a teen, PCOS, fibroids, terrible periods, etc. This practice has done NOTHING for me over the years. They order a test, then do nothing, do each time you go they try to do pricy testing but then no follow up or plan after. I tried getting pregnant when married, Dr. Erk told me that some sperm doesn't work and maybe the next man's will work better?! The real shock came this year- when Jennifer tried to do a biopsy during my annual and when I screamed in pain to stop, she labeled my chart that I refused testing, told me to lose weight if I want to get get pregnant and that I'm getting too old (was 36 then), that my progesterone was probably low bc of PCOS, and put me on progesterone only birth control with no testing first, only to have that birth control make things unbearable. When I called to tell them that after being on it 3… months they said I refused testing, they would not see me, to go to the ER if I wanted to be seen, then dropped me as a patient. They also falsely put things in my friend's chart that used to go there, and other Drs have told me the surgical skills of this Dr are one they would not let an enemy use. Do yourself a favor, find a competent doctor with PCAs that listen and care.

Professional yet friendly and approachable. Excellent skills, very intelligent surgeon.

I have not been able to see Dr. Susan Erk. When I call make appointment, I am always assigned the PA. Sometimes you just want to see a doctor. I agree with other reviews that the staff is less than friendly. The check in always seems disorganized and employees are asking others for charts. Had an issue with appointment when scheduled in that the office called me the day of my appointment to ask if I could come earlier in the day or they had to cancel. I was only seeing the PA. I made arrangements to take that particular time off. Had to reschedule. Further, I've had 2 bone density tests and recall it's the same person. Very unfriendly and makes you feel really uncomfortable.

Dr Susan Erk saved mine and my daughters life. I had a blood clot and she made me go to the ER and was by my side the following 3 months until I delivered my healthy baby girl. I consider her a friend and would tell anyone to go see her. She has a calming way about her. However, her office staff is less than friendly. They need to revamp with women who actually make you feel warm and fuzzy as you should having a baby. The are mean and grumpy !

To be fair I'd like to say that I never actually got to meet Dr. Erk. My review is more of a review of my experience with her practice than with her. When I became pregnant I had to find a new obgyn because mine did not deliver babies anymore. I read good reviews about Dr. Susan Erk in this cite but I didn't realize that if you go to her you could be delivered by anyone in her group practice. You should check out their reviews on this site some of them are frightening and not a risk I was willing to take with my pregnancy. I really felt like I had just taken a number at the deli counter when I had my first prenatal appointment there. I've had better greetings at walmart. I waited for an hour and a half after my scheduled appointment time before I was seen. The staff that did greet me was friendly but I was not able to meet any of the doctors that would possibly be my attending physician at birth. The nurse that gave me my pelvic exam hurt me and made me bleed. She said… that it is very common for pregnant women to bleed during an exam while they are pregnant because of the increase in blood flow. It has never happened with my new obgyn and it has never been painful with my new obgyn either. I was told that until my third trimester I would only be seen by other staff and then towards the end of my appointments I would rotate through the three doctors in the practice so I could meet them once or maybe twice before the birth of my little girl. I left feeling very uneasy and worried that maybe the type of experience I was looking for would not be available. I was looking for one physician that would be the one to deliver me and get to know me over the course of my pregnancy. I've been seeing Dr. Paul Wopperer and am very pleased. He is gentle and the office staff is amazing. I have six more weeks until I give birth and am so glad that I was able to build a comfortable relationship with my doctor. I feel that if I had stayed with Dr. Erk's group I would have been rolling the dice on getting her and not one of the other doctors and she would be a stranger to me anyway. I hope this review can be helpful to someone in my same situation.

I had a great experience with Dr Susan.She is a humble,kind,nice,devoted and excellent decision maker.

Im a 13 year old girl,and I was nervos the first time coming to the obgyn. It all changed though after I met Dr. Erk. (I actually like going now) I would recamend her to anybody.

I would like to say that Susan is a great Dr. who delivered both of my babies. Issues have arrised with me with me making an appointment as I owed $20 from 2009 & I never recived a bill for it and without paying it they would not make and appointment it's now 2011,also them not refilling my my perscription that I have been on in 10 yrs. Really cutting somwthing cold turkey is not right as it says that right on the perscription. Its just been a real joke this last week delaing with her staff. I will be writing a letter to her as well but as always if i see her in the office i will explain to her everything as she always will listen if you ever get to see her.Just be wise if you make an apppointment with her get the 1st one in the am as for 12 yrs I have always waited a min of 40 mins before I was called in...

Dr Susan Erk is a wonderful physician. I live 30 minutes from her office but she is such a pleasant doctor that demonstrates much care for her patients that I will drive just to see her specifically. Thanks Susan for such a smooth birthing experience!
