About Me

My desire to become a doctor came out of being a patient. When I had a health issue, my doctor was as caring as he was competent, and his approach made all the difference to me in how well cared for I felt. I wanted to be able to provide that level of care to others. Now as an emergency medicine doctor, I feel I have a unique opportunity to help patients who are truly in their hour of need. My goal is to take care of the total patient with a focus on giving them whatever tools they need to be active participants in their care. I also very much enjoy the variety of patients and patient care issues that arise.

I think we do a very good job of caring for patients. Our team of providers - from the doctors to the nurses to the clerks to the technicians – is extremely hard working and dedicated to providing great patient care. Also, the availability of extensive medical records and the wealth of providers available for follow-up care are especially …important tools for delivering quality care. In particular, I have a clinical interest in disaster medicine and the management of the difficult airway.

When I’m not at work, I enjoy a variety of activities including skiing, running, ashtanga yoga, reading, traveling, movies, music, and spending time with family and friends. I also work with at-risk youth to introduce them to the possibility of careers in the health care field.
