Dr. Susan Goobie, MD

Susan M. Goobie, MD, FRCPC, is a senior associate in perioperative anesthesia in the Department of Anesthesiology, Critical Care and Pain Medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital and an associate professor of anaesthesia at Harvard Medical School. She specializes in pediatric anesthesiology, with particular expertise in neurosurgery, craniofacial surgery, scoliosis surgery, and pediatric patient blood management. Dr. Goobie earned her medical degree from Memorial University of Newfoundland, where she also completed her residency in anesthesia, and pursued fellowship training in pediatric anesthesia and pediatric anesthesia research at Boston Children’s Hospital. Internationally recognized for her work in blood conservation, coagulation disorders, and antifibrinolytic therapy, her clinical and research efforts focus on improving perioperative safety and outcomes for children undergoing major surgery.
