Dr. Susan Marie Hagnell, MD

She was the on call doctor and not my usual doctor. This was several years ago, but I am traumatized to this day. Came in when I was very close to labor with my first. Very clearly I was scared and not doing so well. She was incredibly callous and immediately arguing with my birthing plan wishes and my husband. Baby was stuck with the cord like a necklace around his neck. She at first snapped at me for screaming even though I was in agony. Then argued about our wishes for a vacuum over forceps. Then, without communicating it, started cutting for an episiotomy. After birthing him, she all but vanished before giving me a cold congrats the day after. I make sure to be as polite as I can to hospital staff - they have a hard job - so I haven't expressed my displeasure until now. I had a third degree episiotomy and it took me months to stop bleeding. I will never forget it. Ever. Unfriendly. Poor communication. And disrespectful. If she hadn't delivered baby so safely to me, I would have… written a review sooner. Either learn a better bedside manner, or find a doula to step in as a coach.

Felt rushed, she didn't say hi or bye, and just didn't feel cared for. Some other people told me she also is mean about weight so beware I guess...

I switched to Dr. Hagnell after my previous OB passed away and she and her team did a great job making me feel welcome and taken care of. I only wish she was a little more personable and talkative, but I dont have complaints other than that!

Was seen in ER and transferred to stay in the hospital. She was the on call doctor. When I finally did see her face on the 3rd day, she didn’t even read my full chart for results before talking to me. I had to tell her some of the info and she left the room to go actually read through them. Then came back in with an attitude and I felt like she didn’t really hear any of my concerns and didn’t take me seriously

I felt like she either didn't care, or didn't understand my concerns. Maybe she was having a bad day, but she did not have the bedside manner that I thought a doctor to have. She seemed to dismiss my thoughts and feelings by not replying to my questions or comments, and by doing so gave the impression that my medical emergency was an inconvenience to her, that she'd like to get over-with. I wish my primary OBGYN was able to respond when I needed them at that hour, because this experience left a bad taste in my mouth.

Dr Hagnell spends time with you, she never makes you feel rushed or like you can’t ask something because it would be a burden. She’s not overbearing or pushy about your wishes either! Very happy with Dr Hagnell as my OB!

Dr. Hagnell is the best.

She is ok..not the worst not the best..

She took the time to talk with me. I was not rushed in and out like I have been in the past.

Dr. Susan Hagnell is really one of the best Gyne's I've been to and I am 65. She takes time with me and helps me to know what I need to do to keep my health.
